Biography

Gurdial (Dale) has been living in British Columbia since 1975.

 Gurdial S.(Dale) Badh has been buying and selling real estate in B.C.’s Lower Mainland since 1987. After more than 25 years in the real estate industry, some of his clients are second/third generation home buyers/sellers. Dale ranks consistently in the top 5% of real estate agents in the Greater Vancouver area; he’s been ranked several times among the top 1%. In this brief interview, Dale talks about life as a career real estate agent.

 

What is your philosophy of being a real estate agent?         

 I help my clients to make one of the largest investments in their life, be it buying or selling. For me, being a real estate agent means being a trusted friend first, a salesperson second. Instead of encouraging someone to buy a property that match what they want and need, I invest time in finding the right property for them.

 

What motivates you as a real estate agent?

 My passion of helping people, my competitive nature and my sense of accountability. I want to live up to the trust and expectations of my clients.

 

 How have you created such a successful real estate practice?

 I always ask myself a simple question: “Am I looking out for the best interest of my clients?” If I were the client, I know I would want to be treated in an honest and professional manner. That’s exactly how I treat my clients.

 

Who are your clients?

 About 70 to 80% of my clients are past clients or referrals from those clients. In many cases, I’m helping the children and grandchildren of clients to purchase their first home. I also specialize in selling large parcels of farm properties, acreages, building lots and some commercial properties.

 

How are you different from other real estate agents?

 I put myself in my client’s shoes. I ask myself, “Would I buy this property for my family?” I do not hesitate to tell my clients when I think a property is not suitable for them. Not because I don’t want them to be happy but because I want them to have a property that meets their needs and that gives them the best value.

 

 When did you begin your real estate practice?

 I started working as a RE/MAX real estate agent on March 9, 1987. That’s more than 25years ago! The first home I sold was  in Surrey. A friend had asked me to list and sell his home when he learned I had entered the business. The first home I purchased (for first-time buyers) was on Seabrook Crecent in Richmond.

 

 What are some of your real estate accomplishments?

 I have been privileged to be among the top RE/MAX agents in Western Canada as well as consistently among the top 100 inCanada. I have made the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and I have received a RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement award. Among all realtors in the Greater Vancouver area, I often place in the top 5% and several times in the top 1%.

 

How are you involved in the community?

 I am a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunrise; I have also served the club as president. And I serve on the Board of Directors for Alice Wong, Member of Parliament forRichmond.

 

 Who is on your team?

 My team of buyer’s agents represents the diversity of the Greater Vancouver area. Together, we help a wide range of clients who want to buy or sell any type of properties. I have selected each of our buyer’s agents because they share my goal of keeping our clients’ best interests at the forefront of all our conversations and interactions.
